MOTHER OF MINE
A Post Partum Comedy
(Based on a True Story)
By Erin Leigh Peck

When Morjean tells her husband Jack that she's ready to have a baby, she doesn't mean she's ready to be pregnant. But before they know it, the couple find themselves racing through the insane and inane landscape of a modern, urban pregnancy.

In a world where mothers are too ashamed to ask for help, Morjean tries to find her way through the search for self as the self she once knew is constantly shifting and expanding. She struggles for control over her body, her family and her world....an exercise in the pursuit of perfection. In the end she realizes that she is in mourning for her old life.

Amidst a backdrop of competitive New York parenting, internet chat rooms and Olympic multi-tasking breast pumps, Morjean must throw her destiny at the mercy of those who know her best, and find her way back to happiness. The answer lies somewhere inside herself...inside the child within.
